And Now a Word From The Sponsor

Welcome to my site and thank you for reading. After many times thinking, if only I had a blog, well-- here we are. This blog will feature writings on a variety of topics from roadside food, to leadership in the fire service; politics; culture- gay, straight, and indifferent, my experiences in Ohio, New York and beyond; and much much more. It's my hope that you will find it interesting and that it stirs at least some thought and discussion. I am certain you wont always agree, but that is what its all about right? Oh and one more thing:

The views expressed on this site are entirely my own. These Days

It has been a minute. Jayce and I were married a few weeks ago. I have had some really interesting ups and a down or two. Family is doing well. We have launched the North American chapter of ICCRA and the political has turned to a shade of black that feels like it may become a permanent stain. Work is interesting, upcoming spin offs, the potential of change and of new things. And the first book should be out in July.

Okay, so now that I put that down it feels like a lot. But it has also been profoundly simple too.  Through all this it has been more about radical kindness and empathy than ever before. Each recent moment has offered a chance to give or receive human connection. Sometimes in random interactions, often with old true friends, and on one magical day in the eyes of your husband in a city clerk wedding chapel in Brooklyn.

These are scary times. But they have also been times of magic. For those seeking their path through, I can only suggest to keep working at finding those connections. Put in the effort and remind yourself and others that love is the greater power. Grace is the greater gift. And in the darkest of times, we should always remember we have the  power and the obligation to be the light.
